Academy Road Live 2008!

On Saturday June 7th the Academy Road Biz successfully hosted it's 9th annual Academy Road Live! Activities included street performers, face painting, a petting zoo, mascots, and balloon tiers, carnival games and much more. Horse drawn wagon rides transported people from one end of the BIZ to the other. Several shops had side-walk sales and offered samples, promotions & giveaways. Jenny Tasker, owner of Woodlands Gallery at 535 Academy Road, was presented with the "Mayor's Business Improvement Zone Award" for the Academy Road Biz. This prestigious award is presented annually to individuals, organizations and businesses that have made significant contributions to their local Business Improvement Zone. Awards are presented for exemplary work that contributes to the Business Improvement Zone programs in a variety of ways.
